My interests include western books, coding, running, biking, painting, gardening and training sporting dogs.
I was born in Frankfurt, Germany. Being born into a household with a military parent, I spent a great deal of my youth traveling around the U.S., with a few trips to Europe before the family settled down in Decatur, IL. I’m a graduate of Richland Community College and the University of Illinois, Springfield. I’ve also completed graduate work at the Wayne State University (MLIS) and the University of Illinois, Springfield (MIS). My first full time position at the Decatur Public Library was as a Bookmobile Driver, but over the years, I've worked in just about every department in the library, including maintenance. I’m also one of those people who can say that "I absolutely love my job" and I appreciate the opportunities it offers to serve our Decatur community. I currently hold down the responsibilities associated with the Asst. City Librarian, Circulation manager and grant writer. I’ve witnessed many exciting changes over the years, mostly due to the influx of new technology in libraries, but I’m pleased to know that the library is still the best place to find a good book.
