My favorite books I am currently reading/listening to are The Magicians series by Lev Grossman, Envy by Anna Godbersen, and The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan.
Special Interests
I like to read books, lots of books, and often multiple at once. Audiobooks are my obsession at the moment. I love science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, and mystery. If reading nonfiction I love history and science! My favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Philippa Gregory, Rick Riordan, Jane Austen, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Cassandra Clare, J.K. Rowling, and Dean Koontz.
I have lived in Decatur, IL all my life and began working at DPL in 2016. I am responsible for curating and maintaining the Young Adult collection and the facilitation and planning of YA programs. While I am working at the Reference desk, you will likely see me creating a sculpture from paper, tape, & recycled materials to top a display or designing materials to promote our library programs. When not at work I spend time trying not to kill the plants in my garden, trying not to burn whatever I am cooking or baking, and snuggling my cats.
