I enjoy kids' books (Gary Schmidt, Katherine Applegate, and Kate DiCamillo are favorite authors), as well as science fiction, history, and camping. You can find my book, Best Tent Camping: Illinois, in the collection here at DPL.
I grew up right here in Decatur, where my Mom took me every week to the library to check out 10 books (the max allowed on a children's card back then). Over the years, I have worked as a Bible translator in central Africa, a camp program director, a writing tutor, and a teams course facilitator. Since 2005 I've been part of the children's section at DPL, where you may find me telling stories, creating displays, juggling digital data, or (my favorite) helping kids find just the right books to get them excited about reading.
