Parking at the Decatur Public Library

The official address of the Decatur Public Library is 130 N. Franklin St, Decatur, IL 62523.
But that is NOT where the entrance is!

The main parking lot and entrance are on the opposite side of the building. The library sits between E. Prairie Ave. to the north and E. Main St. to the south, and you can access the main parking lot from either of those two streets. With GPS, if you navigate to either 499 E. Prairie Ave, Decatur IL 62523 OR 450 E. Main St, Decatur, IL 62523, either will get you to the main parking lot and the entrance.

If the Library's Main Lot is crowded, there is free overflow parking especially for library patrons in the City Garage C, just across E. Main St, on both the upper and lower levels in the northeast corner of the garage. You can access the upper level of the garage from the 100 block of S. Franklin St (which is one way going north). You can access the lower level of the garage from the 400 block of E. Wood St.
