Kids in Nature with the Rock Springs Center
Interactive programs about the natural world
Reading Beyond the Beaten Path includes getting outdoors to explore the natural world, and these programs are perfect to spark kids' interest! Each is presented by staff from the Rock Springs Center of the Macon County Conservation District, and will take place in the Children's Auditorium upstairs.
Space is limited for each, so advance registration is required. Click on the program date to register. (Registration opens May 15.)

Discovering Dinosaurs for Preschoolers -- Tuesday, June 14, 10 a.m. For kids 3 - 5 years old
In this program especially geared to preschoolers, kids will examine replicas of a dinosaur track, skull, egg, tooth and more as they learn about these reptiles from long ago, and also listen to a dinosaur story.

Frog Music -- Wednesday, June 8, 10 a.m. OR 2 p.m. For kids 6 and older
In this program geared to elementary-aged students, kids will meet live amphibians, learn about frogs and toads, and the calls of songs of species found in central Illinois. The program will be presented twice -- please register for just one.
Snake and Turtle Show -- Tuesday, June 28, 10 a.m. OR 2 p.m. For kids 6 and older
In this program geared to elementary-aged students, kids will meet live snakes and turtles as they learn about the nature and value of these creatures. The program will be presented twice -- please register for just one.
