DPL Kids @ Home

Summer Reading is here! Register online, and get started! June 1 - August 15.

The library building is presently open only limited hours, but this year you can participate in our Summer Reading Program from anywhere via computer, tablet or smartphone app! Head to our Children's Summer Reading Challenge page for all the details!

What about books for the kids? At present you can order books online for curbside pick-up AND we will be open for limited hours starting Tuesday, June 16. You can also check out our wealth of online resources, including e-books, audiobooks, even read-alongs that have book and audio combined. You can access any of these from your smartphone, tablet, or computer with your Decatur Public Library card. Let us know if you need help getting started.

Need some book recommendations for kids? We have lots -- lists of print books you can request for pick-up, and lists of e-books you can access online!

And be sure to follow our Seven O'Clock Story Times on Facebook! Every evening, M - F at 7 p.m. our library staff will post a video of a story book read aloud. You don't need a Facebook account to view our page and its content, and you can link to all the previous ones here!

Finally, check out this list of other free online resources currently available for parents and kids.

If you live in Decatur and don't have a DPL card, adults can apply for an e-card right online, and get access to all these resources, with approval within one business day.

Questions? Email the library at info@decaturlibrary.org, message us via Facebook Messenger, or call M - F 217-424-2900 during regular business hours. (If we don't have someone there to answer, press 8 to leave a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.)
