What is Curbside Service?

Curbside Service allows customers to have library materials that have been requested to be delivered to their vehicles in the library parking lot.

Where do I pickup my materials?

DPL has a designated Curbside Pickup area that is clearly marked by signage. Curbside pickup will be on the south side of the peninsula.

No returned items will be accepted from patrons by employees during the curbside transaction.

When can I pick up items using Curbside Service?

Curbside Service is available Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Decatur Public Library.

When your hold request is filled by library staff, you will receive a notification that will provide you with a phone number (217-433-4230) to call library staff and schedule a pickup time.

Who can use Curbside Service?

Anyone with a library card from an Illinois Heartland Library.

Will I lose my HOLD items if I do not pick up during the scheduled time frame?

Items not picked up within the scheduled time frame will be returned to hold shelves.

How do I return library materials?

Materials can be returned at the book drop box on the outside of the building or inside the lobby during regular business hours.

Are there any digital library resources I can use?

Yes. The Library provides a wide array of digital offerings, including e-books, audiobooks, magazines, and streaming movies through Decatur Public Library@Home. Manage Your Account online – search the catalog, place holds, and renew items - at https://search.illinoisheartland.org/.
