Book: The Library Book, by Susan Orlean
Speaker: Susan Danco
Our speaker is eager to share The Library Book by Susan Orlean. This non-fiction/history book begins by describing the largest library disaster in American history—a fire on April 29, 1986, at the Los Angeles Central Library. Beyond that, it is a masterful tribute to libraries in general and has a plot, storyline and eccentric characters.
Susan Danco is a Decatur native, a retired Medical Records Administrator and Occupational Therapist. She is a lifelong learning enthusiast and a five-year member of the DPL Book Club.
Books Between Bites is sponsored monthly by the Friends of the Decatur Public Library. A speaker presents a book or topic of interest, and you do not have to read the book to come and enjoy the program. You can bring your lunch, and the coffee is always on.
