School-Age Art Workshop: Hedgehogs in Oil Pastels

Join us for these guided art workshops for elementary-school kids, ages 6-12, presented by staff from the Decatur Area Arts Council. Each will focus on learning special techniques for creating your own art that you can take home from the program. (The themes are the same as the preschool art workshops, but more in-depth and detailed.)

Hedgehogs in Oil Pastel! There are so many great children's books to explore that feature hedgehogs. We will look at a few, and then learn to create textures in oil pastels, drawing hedgehogs and perhaps owls as well.

Plan to wear "paint clothes" -- clothes you don't mind getting a little messy. All programs will be upstairs in the Children's Auditorium. Workshops are 45 minutes in length, with an additional 15 minutes for those who want to do a bit more on their projects.
