Basic Computer Skills

This course is for those who occasionally use a computer, but it is not a part of their daily life. Attendees will learn the basics of saving/printing a document, how to connect to the internet, download a file, computer navigation and even how to search the Library Catalog!

Prerequisite: Computer Basics or a basic familiarity of how to navigate a computer

Introduction to Computers

This is for those who have never (or very rarely) used a computer, but in an ever-increasing digital world find themselves needing to know the basics of how a computer works. Attendees will learn the basic parts of a computer, how to navigate your desktop, connect to the internet and how to save and print a document.


Basic Computer Skills

This course is for those who occasionally use a computer, but it is not a part of their daily life. Attendees will learn the basics of saving/printing a document, how to connect to the internet, download a file, computer navigation and even how to search the Library Catalog!

Prerequisite: Computer Basics or a basic familiarity of how to navigate a computer

Internet Basics

This course is for those who are new to the World Wide Web or who are not comfortable with any address that begins with “www”. Attendees will learn basics of navigating the internet, basic searches and internet safety tips.

Prerequisite: Computer Basics, Basic Computer Skills or a basic familiarity of how to navigate a computer


Email Basics (Gmail)

This course is for those who do not have an email account or who haven’t used one in a while. Attendees will set up an email account, learn how to send/receive messages, password security and good email security practices.

Prerequisite: Internet Basics or a familiarity of how to navigate the internet


Basic WORD Part 1 and 2

This course is for those who want to know the basics of creating a Microsoft Word document. It is split into two parts. We will cover creating and saving a document, learn how to change fonts, bullets/numbering and formatting, as well as the basics of the Ribbon, including margins and columns.

Prerequisite: Basic Computer Skills or familiarity with basic computer knowledge.

*In order to participate in WORD Part 2, you must have completed WORD Part 1*
