CORAL

The Coalition of Rainbow Alliances (CORAL) is a non-profit, volunteer group that facilitates networking and community for the Central Illinois lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, all other sexual and gender minorities, their families, friends, and the organizations that support them.

Decatur PFLAG Chapter

PFLAG is a National organization with chapters all over the country including the local chapter in Decatur. Our mission is support, education & advocacy for LGBT persons and their family and/or friends.

Equality Federation

Equality Federation is an advocacy accelerator rooted in social justice, building power in our network of state-based lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) advocacy organizations.

LGBTQ+ Women of Springfield

LGBTQ+ Women of Springfield is a social group for women who identify somewhere in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and/or Queer spectrum and reside within a one-hour radius of Springfield, Illinois. The group has been formed to promote social interaction among women in our community in a safe and welcoming environment.

We are Central Illinois’ LGBTQ Community Center offering various groups, services, training, social & educational events and transitional housing.

Prairie Pride Coalition

The Prairie Pride Coalition is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to equality for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people (the GLBT community), specifically in McLean County, Illinois.

LGBT individuals are disadvantaged legally in other areas as well. In most States, same-sex couples in a committed relationship are prohibited from marrying. This means that same-sex partners must make special arrangements if they wish to bequeath their assets to each other after death.

Fifth Street Renaissance/SARA Center

It is our mission of Fifth Street Renaissance/ SARA Center is to assist individuals and families in difficult situations who are making the transition to be productive members of society by providing transitional housing and opportunities to develop job skills and acquire education, employment, and housing. It is our mission to assist those individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, their caregivers, and families by helping locate affordable housing, medical assistance, counseling, and when necessary, financial responsibility. The agency also will work to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDs through education, awareness, and prevention.

Lambda Legal

Our story begins with a band of volunteer lawyers struggling to break new ground for LGBT people in the American justice system. From that start came a national civil rights group that has had unprecedented success. Continuing to this day, our work improves life for a diverse community of LGBT people and people with HIV who, four decades ago, were penalized or barely recognized under the law across the nation.

Decatur Pride

Decatur Pride is an annual celebration of LGBTQIA+ art, culture, history, education, and advocacy.

Springfield Pride

It is a day of embracing diversity and celebrating the Central IL LGBTQ community. It is an event with something for everyone – a kids area, a large stage with live entertainment, lots of great vendors selling goods and giving out information, great food & drinks, tons of fun, and time spent with family & friends. Springfield PrideFest is organized by the Phoenix Center.
